Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL)

The Society for Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) is a nonprofit with national and international partnerships that has been serving birds, nature, and people for 20 years. It was established in 1984 under the Lebanese Laws, and licensed by the Ministry of Interior by decision no. 6/AD dated 8/1/1986. SPNL is the national partner of BirdLife International, and a member of the World Conservation Union IUCN, the MED Forum, the MedWet/NGOz network, and the Lebanese Environment Forum.

SPNL advocates for the traditional Hima (Community Based Protected Areas) in the Middle East. The Hima promotes the sustainable use of natural resources.
