Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers (CSUCS)

The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers seeks to pressure governments to fulfill their international legal obligations to end and prevent child soldiering, as laid out in the Optional Protocol on children in armed conflict. In order to achieve this long term goal, the Coalition undertakes detailed country and thematic research to support international and national advocacy initiatives for the implementation of legal and policy measures to address child soldiering.

In Chad, children have been recruited and used by armed forces, government-backed militias, and a complex range of armed groups with varying levels of command structure and military, political, or criminal objectives. Funding from the Caipirinha Foundation will support the Coalition’s research and consultations to inform a full program development for the country.
